Baby quilts are always so much fun to make and offer the opportunity for a wide variety of styles and colors to choose. Add in a specific theme such as Winnie and friends, and this baby quilt becomes even more special.
Requested quilt
Hannah Signmon contacted me about making a baby quilt for her friend, using Winnie the Pooh fabrics. After receiving a picture of a quilt that she liked, my creative juices started flowing.
Securing the fabrics
In researching online sources, I discovered that availability for Winnie the Pooh fabrics was very limited. I was finally able to order 4 different prints with Winnie and all his friends. After choosing coordinating fabrics, I created a computer quilt design like the design Hannah had requested.
Final work
Alternating the theme fabrics with the coordinating fabrics, the shades of yellow, blue, green, and white joined to make the quilt design a wonderful choice. I used a flame-retardant batting, and a soft figured fleece backing to finish the quilt. I can image this quilt of Winnie and friends will bring many contented moments to the new mother and baby.
