Terry’s Quilt of Memories

Coincidences and connections!  In July, I received a call from Donna Cundiff.  She had gotten my name from a friend, who in turn suggested she call Brenda Feeney, long-time quilter and owner of the now-closed Sewing Studio.  Brenda, who is no longer taking customer orders, contacted me.  Brenda helped guide me into the world of quilting and longarm quilting machines.  I much appreciate her help and friendship. End of the story is I met with Donna and began the process of creating Terry’s Quilt of Memories.

Progress

Donna’s late husband was Terry Cundiff, who was a Bassett High School classmate of mine.  Donna brought a great selection of Terry’s dress shirt, and requested I made a throw-sized quilt.  I used a basic patchwork block design, that I created on my computer using the EQ8 software.  The combination of the many colors and patterns of the shirt were surrounded by off-gray sashing.  The final border was a navy backing was a shade of gray.

Results

Having known Terry Cundiff in high school, I felt honored to be allowed to create this quilt, and had many nice thoughts of Terry as I worked.  Terry’s quilt of memories became a very nice project.  I am thankful Donna contacted me, and I’m sure she will find much comfort in this special quilt.
