Riley’s memory quilt was a very pretty quilt filled with blocks of special fabrics. The throw sized quilt was special by itself, but as an added benefit, it led to additional pillows and one more quilt.
Work begins
Riley Harding sent me a collection of her late Dad’s polo shirts. There was a nice variety of colors, and textures. She decided on the quilt design, and I created a pattern using my Electric Quilt 8 software – @theelectricquiltcompany.
Quilt completed
After Riley approved the design, I began the actual work. Since the quilt was throw-sized, the work went quickly. And the result was very nice. Riley had also asked for three pillows to use the shirts, which turned out to be very pretty.
Quilt Number 2
As I prepared to ship the completed projects, Riley asked if I would have enough pieces of the shirts remaining to make her mom a quilt. Luckily, I had saved all the pieces, designed a quilt for Shea Williams, Riley’s Mom. Riley’s memory quilt led to several wonderful memory treasures.
