I apologize for the recent absence of blogs and updates on my website. I have been busy with new and exciting quilts and customer orders. Because many of my recent projects were gifts, it was necessary for me to wait to show pictures until they had been gifted. So time to catch up! And I’ll begin with a nurse-themed quilt.
The project
In December 2024, a returning customer, Tania Compton, brought me a wonderful quilt top she made for her daughter-in-law, who is a nurse. As always, Tania’s work is so accurate and carefully stitched. This quilt is no exception, with Tania’s choice of fabrics and quilt design.
Completed Quilt
The center of each block featured the Red Cross symbol in various colors. It was a pleasure working on this quilt, even with the tedious nature of the “Swoosh” quilting pattern. I think Tania’s finished quilt is wonderful and I’m sure this nurse-themed quilt will bring much happiness to her daughter-in-law.
One additional thought
In a previous note, I posted about a quilt contest sponsored by a local radio station B99.9 FM in honor of national quilting month. Prizes for the quilt with the most votes received were given by the Fork Mtn Quilting Store in Rocky Mount, VA. I was thrilled when notified that I won the top prize of $300. Thank you, readers, friends, family, and acquaintances, for your votes. I appreciate all of the support you have given me.
