In her first correspondence with me, Lara Hall stated she had “lots of t-shirts from my life I’d love to have made into several quilts.” Design and style of the quilts was left to my discretion. Due to a waiting list, I had to wait several months to begin work on Lara’s memory quilts.
Beginning Process
She and I corresponded several times as we made definite plans for the quilts. She decided on one twin size, one full size, and one queen size quilt. She separated her shirts into themes and shipped the shirts to me. I carefully made an inventory of each, stored them into individual boxes and created a design for each quilt on my computer. To keep myself organized, I worked on only one quilt from beginning to the completion of the quilt top.
Progress
To keep myself organized; I worked on one quilt from the beginning to the completion of the quilt top. After all three quilt tops were completed, I began the process of adding the batting, and the backing. Away to my longarm machine I went, using a different quilting design on each quilt.
