Jane Ann’s Special Memory Quilts

A friend Jane Ann Davis contacted me several months ago about making two memory quilts for her children using her late husband’s shirts. Her husband Jeff was a good Christian man and father and played an important role in the lives of all who knew him. It was an honor to be able to create Jane Ann’s special memory quilts.

Planning and Progress

After several months of recuperation from a fall, I was happily and thankfully able to return to quilting and sewing. With a variety of shirts her children had chosen to use, Jane Ann’s two quilts were easily created with different styles. The son’s quilt featured large blocks cut from the fronts of t-shirts – all themed around his early baseball career. Since the daughter had chosen her favorite shirts, most were solid colors. These were cut into smaller pieces and sewn into a traditional patchwork style of quilt.

Completed Quilts

With different color themes, each quilt became a unique and lovely finished product. I think Jane Ann’s special memory quilts will hold many treasured memories for her son and daughter for many years.
