Candy’s Two Memory Quilts

I find it rewarding to work with customers when creating a special memory quilt for them. Candy Brenner was a pleasure to work with in all aspects of making Candy’s two memory quilts.

Stitching begins

The first steps for a customer are preparing the clothes to send to me. Candy divided the items into two boxes, one for her quilt and one box for her daughter Ashley’s quilt. She decided on a lovely design for the quilts using 6” squares with 1 ½” sashing in a complimentary color around the blocks.

Quilts take shape

Although the design was the same for both quilts, each quilt took on its own unique look. The blue fabric for her daughter blended beautifully with the choice of clothes for that quilt. I used a blue fabric for the backing, which nicely blended with all the colors of the top. The gray accent fabric in Candy’s quilt created such a nice compliment to the colors of her blocks. And for her backing, I used a dramatic backing with shades of grays.

Completed quilts

As I worked on Candy’s two memory quilts, I realized each quilt represented special memories for Candy and her daughter. I think they will treasure their quilts and find much comfort when using them. And please take a look at her comments under Testimonials on my first page.
